Ages 11-15
Camp for 11–15-year-olds, will use the computer/phone app “Simple Planes” to each design their own WW2 era military aircraft (under certain engine horsepower limits of course). These planes will then be put head-to-head on a series of challenges on the final day, in front of the parents. The kids will also get the opportunity to export their models and 3d print them to take them home. Each day will focus on a different step in the aircraft design purpose, from purpose/armament to the nose art. Simpleplanes is an excellent program as it is very easy to understand and use for kids. It can also be run on mobile phones, so we don’t need any specialized hardware, and kids can take the fun home! Models can also be exported very easily to blender for easy 3d printing.
